The only fan in the world
As a gift for a special occasion, we were asked to create a custom-designed fan featuring wisteria flowers, which are meaningful to the customer.
Wisteria is said to be an ancient flowering tree in Japan and is also written about in the Manyoshu. Its supple, flowing appearance makes it a symbol of elegance and dignity, and it has been a beloved motif that has been integrated into the Japanese landscape since ancient times.
The fan surface is an original design created by Manyo from scratch. The elegant purple clusters of wisteria flowers are arranged to sway in the wind, creating a soft and elegant impression. When you open the fan, you can feel the beauty of the wisteria flowers swaying gracefully in the spring breeze.
Craftsmanship with meticulous attention to detail
At Manyo, we value our customers' thoughts and images above all else, and pay meticulous attention to design and balance. We meticulously calculate the flow of the vines, the placement of the leaves, and even the overlapping of the flower clusters, carefully finishing traditional beauty with modern techniques.
The base paper is made of high-quality Japanese paper with a subdued sheen, and the pale background and the purple of the wisteria create an exquisite harmony that creates an elegant look. On the back, we proposed to write the name in purple text, the same color as the wisteria flower.
The ribs are made from high-quality domestic bamboo , the middle ribs are made from white bamboo that harmonizes with the design of the fan face, and the ribs are made from beautifully lustrous dyed red Karaki wood, which adds an accent and creates a sense of luxury.
The result is a piece that embodies traditional Japanese beauty and the warmth of delicate handcraft.
